Dussehra Vacation
This Dussehra vacation wasn’t packed with big events or trips, but it turned out to be one of the most memorable ones I’ve had. My dad had just returned from a long business trip to northern India, and spending time with him again made this break truly special.
We kicked things off with an exciting go-karting session — easily one of the highlights of the holidays. Racing down the track, feeling the wind rush past, and laughing every time one of us missed a turn was pure fun. My dad took it quite seriously, while I just enjoyed the thrill of the race.
After all that excitement, we decided to explore new restaurants around town. Each one had its own charm — we tried Italian food at a cozy café decorated with fairy lights and soft music (Mom joined us for that one), where the pasta and pizzas were just perfect. On other days, Dad and I tried sushi and ramen at a sleek Japanese restaurant and Chinese noodles and dumplings at a vibrant spot filled with red lanterns and bamboo accents. Every meal felt like a mini adventure, full of new flavors and laughter.
We also spent some afternoons bowling and playing arcade games. Between flashing lights, loud music, and playful competition, it was impossible not to have fun.
Of course, it wasn’t all play — we balanced things out with some study sessions in math and science. Somehow, those turned into long chats about space, the universe, and the mysteries of the cosmos. I’ve always loved those moments of learning and curiosity with my dad — they make studying feel exciting instead of boring.
I also went on a picnic with my friends, and although it was shorter than usual since I wanted to be home with my dad, it was still full of laughter, snacks, and great memories.
And then came October 6th — Dad’s birthday! 🎂
Mom brought home a delicious cake from her office, and we had a cozy little celebration together. It wasn’t fancy, but it was perfect — full of smiles, stories, and good food.
The evenings were usually spent watching cricket matches — cheering for every six, debating over players, and just enjoying that lively family atmosphere.
Looking back, this Dussehra vacation was calm, joyful, and full of small but meaningful moments. It reminded me that you don’t always need grand plans to have a great time — sometimes, all it takes is good food, fun games, and being with the people you love.
