Exams, Pressure, and the Art of Not Losing Your Mind

Hi. If you’re reading this, there is a good chance one of three things is happening:

  1. Exams are coming.

  2. Exams are already here.

  3. You opened your book, read one line, and suddenly decided reading a blog sounds much better.

No judgement. I respect the strategy.

Let’s talk about exam pressure, because somehow 4 letters — E X A M — can make people act like the world is ending.

First Question: What even is exam pressure?

Exam pressure is that feeling when:

  • Your brain says: “We should study.”

  • Your heart says: “What if we fail everything?”

  • Your phone says: “Watch 47 random videos.”

And suddenly you’re stressed… and also watching a video about 67 memes.

Totally normal.

Your brain is just trying to handle a lot of expectations at once — school, teachers, parents, friends, and your own goals.

But here’s something important.

Exams are tests of preparation, not tests of your value as a human being.

You are still the same cool person whether you get 95 or 75.

Mini Activity: Rate Your Stress

On a scale of 1 to 10, how stressed are you right now?

1–3 → Chill master
4–6 → Mildly stressed potato
7–10 → Emergency chocolate required

Now ask yourself:

  • Am I stressed because I haven’t started?

  • Or because I don’t know where to start?

Most exam stress is actually the second one.

The Secret Weapon: The Tiny Plan

Instead of saying:

“I have to study EVERYTHING.”

Try this:

Today I will:

  • Revise 1 chapter

  • Solve 5 questions

  • Review 1 mistake

That’s it.

Small plans make your brain go:

“Oh. That’s doable.”

And when your brain thinks something is doable, it stops panicking.

The “Brain Break” Rule

Your brain is not a robot. It needs breaks.

Try the 40–10 rule:

Study for 40 minutes

Break for 10 minutes

During the break:

✔ Stretch
✔ Drink water
✔ Walk around
✔ Listen to one preferably classical or orchestra song

Avoid the dangerous break activity:

❌ “Just one video” that becomes 2 hours of shorts.

We all know how that ends.

Quick Fun Test

Answer honestly.

During exams, do you:

A) Study calmly
B) Study while panicking
C) Organize your pens instead of studying
D) Suddenly clean your entire room

If you chose C or D, welcome to the Avoidance Club. We meet every exam season.

Something Important to Remember

Everyone feels exam pressure.

Even the “topper”.

Even the “super organized friend”.

Even the teacher who made the exam.

Pressure just means you care. And caring is not a bad thing.

But pressure should be fuel, not a fire alarm.

Your Mission (Yes, you)

Before you leave this blog, do one small thing:

Open your book.

Pick one topic.

Study it for 10 minutes.

That’s it.

Starting is the hardest part.

Ill join you...... Lets see who can outlast whome.

Ok..... I guess you won......

Final Thought

Exams will come.

Exams will go.

But your curiosity, creativity, friendships, hobbies, sports, music, stories, and all the things that make you you are much bigger than any exam.

So study well.

Sleep well.

Laugh sometimes.

And remember:

You are not a walking report card.

You are a human with a brain that just needs snacks, sleep, and a little planning.

And, as a final tip, I strongly reccomend this song for rewarding yourself after studying.....

The ultimate song of chill
